You probably have a wet-weather plan for your Big Day, but do you have a hot weather plan? 30C+ temperatures are a regular even in London in the summer now.
Don’t worry, you dont really need to put too much thought into this. Cakes don’t always love the heat, but I’ll do all the worrying so you don’t have to!
If you are getting married between May and September, I’ll have a think about how the weather could effect your cake. I’ll let you know what the risks are and I’ll be watching the weather forecast as closely as you’ll be!
The plan will vary depend on your chosen design, your venue, and the time of day your reception starts. It might be that I deliver as late in the day as I possibly can. We might need to plan for the option of having some faux tiers or even slight tweaks to the design. I’ve even been known to stand with a parasol shading the cake until the guests arrived! OR we might have nothing to worry about at all - if your venue has air conditioning you, and the cake, will be cool as a cucumber.
I’ve been setting up cakes for 15 years and some of those have been on days when the temperature has been well into the 30s (memorably, once, 39C!) so I’ll do my absolute best to keep things chill!
